We are not involved in the lockdown protests
There have been various posts in the mainstream media and on social media lately advertising “UK Freedom Movement” anti-lockdown protests.
To be clear: we are not involved in any way with these protests, nor the people/group organising them.
We understand another group has been created with the same name as us, but we are absolutely nothing to do with this group.
There are (at least) two groups calling themselves “UK Freedom Movement”, including ourselves and another group with the same name. We are not involved with the other group(s) in any capacity.
Richard Inman spokesman for UK Freedom Movement said.
“We will not be attending or promoting these events, and want to make it clear we are not associated with the group organising these events. That said many of our hard won liberties are being crushed under the draconian Covid legislation, although we are not involved in these demos at the weekend we support the right of all people to freedom of assembly, so long as there is no threat to the safety of others. In our opinion the state must quickly find a way to facilitate and restore the right to peaceful protests and other democratic freedoms that have been stripped away from the citizens of the UK. We must always be aware that freedom is always hard won and too easily given away!”
Also, it is worth noting that Reece Coombes has not been involved in this UK Freedom Movement for around 18 months, and has never had anything to do with the group organising the protests. Reece Coombes strongly disagrees with the protests.
